Jan's aunt, Viola Geraldine "Jerry" Burroughs died 17 June 1997. She had terminal cancer, but died of a stroke.
Jan's aunt, Gladine May (Burroughs) Stone was operated on (successfully) in about 1980 for breast cancer.
Jan's maternal grandfather, Glenn Roy Burroughs, died 8 Feb 1964 at the age of 82 years plus of tuberculosis. He told of having had surgery a few years earlier for breast cancer.
Jan's paternal grandmother, Stella Blanche (Conway) Brown Burroughs died 17 Nov 1966 at the age of 76 and one half years. She had been diagnosed with rectal cancer two or three years earlier from which she finally succumbed.
Jan's great-grandmother, Jennie (Charlton) Conway - the mother of Jan's paternal grandmother - died of carcinoma of the stomach 25 Mar 1913 at the age of 47 and one half years.
Jan's father, Robert W. Brown, was operated on (successfully) in 1998 for prostate cancer.

From August, 1971 to August, 1982, was employed by the Alumni Services Office of the University of Alaska, Fairbanks, AK as Secretary and later as the Administrative Assistant to the Director. For one of those years, she served as the Acting Executive Director for the UA Alumni Association. She retired in 1982.
Served as a leader for Bluebirds and Campfire Girls of America from 1960 to 1966. Doris served in many other ways throughout her life - serving her Lord, her family and humanity in general.
Doris died in my arms at approximately 8:00 pm on Sunday, 17 February 2008 and went to be with her Lord, Jesus Christ. I will be with her again, I know, when I am called to be with Jesus in His Father's house.
